Although I don't consider myself an artist, I think what you shared can apply to vocations aligned with a person who truly believes it is their fate to work in that profession. I also think that listening and then slowly shaping it also has to be done with tuning into intuition, not to control the voice, just to let it flow and experiment, to gain impressions from as many angles as possible.
